About the position

As a Lead Chemical Process Engineer at Honeywell, you will leverage your expertise in chemical process engineering fundamentals and modeling techniques to deliver innovative solutions tailored to the evolving needs of our customers. This role involves collaboration with world-renowned engineers to develop groundbreaking projects, expand existing processes, and create the next generation of Advanced Materials products. You will be responsible for designing, testing, and validating products from pilot scale to market, ensuring that your contributions significantly impact the optimization of manufacturing processes, product quality, and environmental sustainability. In this position, you will report directly to the Senior Chemical Engineering Manager and will have the flexibility to work remotely. Your role will be pivotal in troubleshooting and implementing advanced technologies while analyzing data to enhance efficiency, achieve cost savings, and ensure compliance with regulations. Responsibilities

  • Develop process models, heat and material balances, process simulation and tool development for UOP engineering.
  • Identify and mitigate technical and process risks during the development stage.
  • Evaluate process/model alternatives during development and identify flowsheet optimization opportunities and good modeling practices.
  • Develop expertise with process chemistry and unit operations to enable modeling of large UOP operating units and integrated complexes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and technical sales teams to develop and implement models and tools, participating in productivity, optimization, and automation projects.
  • Work with the Simulation and tools team in model development for new and mature UOP technologies, extension development, thermodynamic models, and engineering tools development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of Process Engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing sector (Refining, Oil & Gas, petrochemicals, and renewables).
  • 8+ years of experience with Simulation using UniSim Design, HYSYS, and/or AspenPlus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering techniques to optimize processes.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to focus on important information and identify key details.

Nice-to-haves

  • Significant experience in process design and engineering projects ranging from $10M-$100M.
