As a Lead CNC Programmer at GE Aviation, you will play a crucial role in supporting CNC Grinding and Turning applications within a rotating parts setting. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the daily operations of the plants run smoothly, maintaining reliability and consistency on the production line, which includes service shops. You will be responsible for departmental operations planning and execution, focusing on the execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. While you will function with some autonomy, your work will be guided by established policies and the review of end results. You will have the opportunity to modify procedures and practices as long as the end results meet the standards of acceptability in terms of quality, volume, and timeliness. In this role, you will program manufacturing equipment with a specific focus on Grinding and Turning applications, which includes responsibilities typically associated with NC Programmers. Your expertise will be primarily in manufacturing, and this position is not intended for IT professionals. You may also have direct people management responsibilities, including staffing and performance development. Utilizing your in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines, analytical thinking, and technical experience, you will execute policies and strategies effectively. You will be expected to have knowledge of best practices and understand how your area integrates with others, while also being aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market. You will use your judgment and ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes that may involve technical variety and interdependent production cycles. Acting as a resource for colleagues with less experience, you may lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Your role will also involve explaining information and developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within your field. You will convey performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues as they arise.
