About the position

Kforce has a client in Marietta, GA that is looking for a Lead Data Governance Analyst to join their team. This position is pivotal in establishing and overseeing the end-to-end process of the operational data framework, ensuring that data is suitable for its intended purpose. The Lead Data Governance Analyst will execute enterprise data governance strategies for operational data, aligning these strategies with the organization’s business objectives. This role involves working closely with customers of operational data to ensure alignment and overseeing the creation of data governance policies and standards for operational data, fields, and metrics. Additionally, the analyst will utilize organizational data governance management tools to assess data repositories for compliance with established policies and standards, particularly concerning operational data types. The Lead Data Governance Analyst will also be responsible for the oversight, adherence, and improvement of the quality of operational data and metrics. This includes developing and executing data quality strategies that align with the organization’s business goals. The analyst will collaborate with individual operational data sources, users, and transaction-level business owners to define and establish data quality rules and definitions that are consistent with departmental and organizational strategies. Furthermore, the role requires the development of data quality metrics to identify gaps and ensure compliance with standards across the enterprise. The analyst will establish processes for continuous monitoring of data quality and ensure that proactive measures are in place to detect, correct, and prevent invalid data values.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes the end-to-end process of operational data framework for assessing decisions that ensure the suitability of data for its intended purpose.
  • Executes enterprise data governance strategies for operational data in line with the organization’s business strategy and objectives.
  • Works with customers of operational data to ensure alignment.
  • Oversees the creation of data governance policies and standards for operational data, fields, and metrics.
  • Works with organizational data governance management tools.
  • Assesses data repositories for compliance with data governance policies and standards as it pertains to operational data types.
  • Works with all areas of the business to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Creates and manages problem lists and audit reports.
  • Develops and executes data quality strategies for operational data in line with the organization’s business strategy and goals.
  • Works with individual operational data sources and users and transaction level business owners to define and establish data quality rules and definitions consistent with department and organizations strategies.
  • Develops data quality metrics that identify gaps and ensure compliance with standards across the enterprise.
  • Establishes data quality process, governance, and issue tracking process tools.
  • Works with business and IT partners to remediate identified gaps using both manual and automated solutions.
  • Establishes processes to continuously monitor data quality; ensures processes are in place to proactively detect, correct, and prevent invalid data values.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in data governance or related field.
  • SQL proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Superior critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional competence with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, team building and communication skills.
  • Expert data governance skills including the ability to manage data catalog, data dictionaries, and application of data governance principles.
  • Ability to identify complex problems, involve key parties, gather pertinent data, and consider various options in the decision-making process.
  • Skilled at applying problem solving skills in a logical, systematic way to resolve issues.
