The Lead, Data Platform Engineer at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is a pivotal role focused on designing, building, and maintaining scalable data platform technologies that support AI, machine learning, and data science initiatives within the pharmaceutical research and development sector. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and operate an end-to-end data platform for pharmaceutical research and development.
  • Innovate and shape platform strategy to enable new scientific areas within the research and development group.
  • Work with Data Product Owners to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Snowflake or Databricks, Airflow, DBT, and Streamsets.
  • Collaborate with data product owners, data scientists, analysts, and other partners to understand data requirements.
  • Implement data integration, transformation, and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Monitor and resolve data pipeline issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Expertise in Snowflake or Databricks, Airflow, DBT, and Streamsets.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and cloud data warehouses like AWS Redshift, Snowflake, and BigQuery.
  • Authority in Data Modeling, Data Migration, Data Cleansing, and ETL Processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and Apache Airflow.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence solution development.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL programming.
  • Proficiency in test automation and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with DataOps development and automation.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and tools.
  • Experience working in healthcare or a regulated industry.
