Lead Full Stack Java Developer

About the position

The Lead Full Stack Java Developer position is a contract role based in Woonsocket, with a duration of 6 months. The manager is looking for a candidate with lead experience who can effectively communicate with the business and lead a team of 4-5 developers. It is crucial that candidates highlight their lead experience on their resumes, including the number of team members they have led and the activities they have undertaken in a leadership capacity.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and implementing custom software and database application capabilities for a variety of legacy and modernized systems with limited oversight.
• Acting as a member of a product team supporting teammates and collaborating to ensure product and team success.
• Providing improvements to the product(s) being supported.
• Actively participating in release and sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Supporting release planning with conceptual design and development/refinement of software engineering guidelines.
• Analyzing complex project-related problems and creating innovative solutions.
• Ensuring product quality and timeliness of work, providing advice and guidance, resolving problems to meet objectives, and providing periodic performance reports.
• Providing mentoring to junior members of the team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience with Java Spring Boot, Angular, microservices architecture, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• In-depth knowledge of the Angular Framework (TypeScript, Angular Material, state management) and experience creating RESTful services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Expert experience in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Typescript, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
• Knowledge of creating Angular components, services, and understanding of state management and UI performance.
• DevOps experience/CI/CD pipeline.
• Familiarity with basic security concepts such as SSL/TLS, OAuth, and encryption.
• Familiarity with basic cloud concepts such as AWS, GCP, and/or MS Azure.
• Experience with developing SPA (Single Page Application) using Angular and backed by RESTful services.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead design-related conversations.
• Object-oriented design and development (OODD) expertise and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
• Experience with source code control systems and concurrent development workflows (Git preferred).
• Experience with SQL or PL/SQL Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL Server databases.
