About the position

As the Technical Leader for our Production Engineering SRE team, you will spearhead efforts to design, implement, and maintain highly available, secure, and performant distributed systems. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our platform's reliability, security, and performance, with a strong focus on DevSecOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of DevSecOps practices across our engineering organization.
  • Work directly with teams to streamline and improve practices around security throughout service lifecycle and production.
  • Develop and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines, integrating security at every stage of the development lifecycle.
  • Establish and enforce security standards for containerized and cloud-native systems.
  • Design and implement scalable, resilient architectures for our SaaS platform.
  • Lead initiatives to improve system reliability, including chaos engineering and fault tolerance testing.
  • Develop and maintain SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs for critical services.
  • Review and enhance the security posture of our containerized and cloud-native systems.
  • Provide technical guidance on secure design for Linux-based infrastructures and web applications.
  • Lead security architecture reviews and threat modeling sessions.
  • Guide and mentor team members in SRE best practices, security principles, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
  • Collaborate with other engineering leaders to align on technical strategies and goals.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends in cloud-native technologies, security, and SRE practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to improve our platform's reliability and security.
  • Lead R&D initiatives, including purple team exercises and commercial CTF infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in SRE, DevSecOps, or similar roles, with a strong focus on security.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of AWS services and best practices for secure, scalable architectures.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing DevSecOps practices.
  • Strong background in security engineering, with hands-on experience in vulnerability management, threat modeling, and secure system design.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Track record of leading and mentoring high-performing technical teams.
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and ArgoCD.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CSSLP, AWS Security Specialty).
  • Experience with GitOps deployment patterns and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
  • Contributions to open-source projects related to security or reliability engineering.
