As an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer with Middough, you will be responsible for collecting and preparing data/information and performing detailed engineering calculations. This role involves basic engineering design that requires review and approval by senior department personnel. The I&C Engineer is expected to demonstrate technical and professional growth annually by maintaining active membership in professional organizations and participating in technical seminars and courses. In this position, you will work on multiple projects of various sizes simultaneously, either as the lead design engineer or as a member of a larger design team. Your responsibilities will include collecting and preparing data/information, performing detailed engineering calculations, and writing formal engineering and technical reports. You will also develop technical specifications and data sheets, perform technical evaluations of bids, and recommend the best value design that meets client requirements for operability, reliability, maintainability, and safety. Additionally, you will prepare project documentation and deliverables, including scopes of work, bills of material, instrument and IO lists, instrument datasheets, and cable and conduit schedules. Leading fieldwork by checking installations and problem-solving activities will also be part of your role. You will perform calculation checking and vendor drawing reviews, serve as Project Lead for select single-discipline projects, and interact with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information. Managing the scope of project work, addressing scope and work changes, and completing project work based on budget and scheduled time frames are essential aspects of this position. You will also present project information internally to colleagues and externally to clients, all while working within given budget and schedule parameters and developing internal time estimates for engineering and design.
