About the position

The Lead Inventory Control Associate serves as a key point of contact for inventory-related tasks and issues within a distribution center. This role supports management by providing guidance and training to inventory control associates, ensuring efficient inventory operations and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches and trains inventory control associates on inventory and count processes.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes inventory control work to ensure tasks are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Records and reports all inventory adjustments, pallet audits, and discrepancies on a weekly basis.
  • Reviews cycle counts and tracks discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Checks for product quality and communicates quality issues to vendors.
  • Determines the appropriate placement for inventory based on size, selling volume, and other applicable factors.
  • Assists with loading damaged merchandise into delivery vehicles using powered and non-powered material handling equipment.
  • Serves as back-up for all inventory and general warehouse functions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working in inventory control.
  • Prior distribution center experience.
  • Previous experience operating material handling equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas.
  • Generally 7+ years of experience in area of responsibility.
