About the position

The Lead, IT Portfolio Management at Humana plays a crucial role in aligning the IT portfolio with business demands. Familiarity with core finance principles and corporate accounting processes is advantageous, particularly for those with experience in Cost Optimization within large organizations. In this role, the Lead, IT Portfolio Management will organize and prioritize projects based on IT strategy and available budgets, ensuring that financial and organizational support aligns with strategic goals. The position requires independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues, with minimal supervision. The Lead will also provide stakeholders with tools to develop and measure capacity and cost-related metrics, while closely partnering with technology teams to understand their processes and impacts on costs. This includes evaluating data patterns to derive insights that inform strategic and operational decisions. The Lead will serve as a liaison between stakeholders, driving accountability and helping teams understand their spending in relation to business goals and budgets. Additionally, the role supports the annual budget and monthly forecast processes, collaborating with accounting, finance, and technical areas to manage consumption and savings. This position is pivotal in determining the appropriate costs associated with technology, ensuring that the organization can effectively manage its IT investments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide stakeholders with the tools to develop and measure capacity and cost related metrics, KPIs and savings
  • Closely partner with technology teams to understand their processes and impacts on costs, including demand drivers from outside of the teams' responsibilities
  • Evaluate and investigate data patterns to derive insightful knowledge that can inform strategic and operational decisions
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and drive accountability as appropriate
  • Help teams understand their spend compared to their business goals and budget
  • Support the annual budget and monthly forecast processes in managing consumption, show-back, and savings in collaboration with accounting, finance, and technical areas
  • Support technology owners in determining how much their technology should cost

Requirements

  • You must be authorized to work in the US without Humana sponsorship as Humana does not provide work visa sponsorship for this role
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of technical experience
  • 2 years of project leadership experience
  • 4+ years of experience producing financial analysis, metrics, measurements and trend reports
  • 4+ years of working knowledge of ad-hoc query tools and data repositories that support data extraction and manipulation
  • 4+ years of experience leading special projects and producing metrics, measurements and trend reports
  • Analytical, conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Technology background to translate and communicate effectively IT deliver presentations into executive and business views/understanding
  • Strong Technology Business Management (TBM) skills to connect storytelling to technology investment to business value
  • Strong ability to predict risks, identify cross team coordination gaps, and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of the core Finance principles and basic understanding of the corporate accounting process (forecast, invoicing, showback, accruals. etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations to senior leaders
  • Detail orientated to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts
  • Ability to build strong relationships and manage expectations with a host of diverse stakeholders
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
