Responsibilities

  • Work highly independently - mentoring engineers and leading a team in executing complex tasks supporting equipment qualification.
  • Provide oversight while delegating work and mentoring team members.
  • Set day-to-day operational objectives for individuals or teams.
  • Develop and lead technical training in critical product area(s).
  • Provide support/manager input to PFP reviews.
  • Lead Manufacturing initiatives such as SIOP and Global Manufacturing Expansion.
  • Interface with stakeholders on technical issues, cost and schedule.
  • Encourage technical excellence and rigor in the group's work, including offering peer check opportunities.
  • Support manager in development of resources, including regular check-ins, review of TLDP progression, assignments for development, onboarding of new hires, etc.
  • Ability to be organized, effectively manage time, make data-based decisions, and communicate with management, WEC staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote a Safety Conscious Work Environment (SCWE) and Westinghouse's strong Nuclear Safety Culture.
  • Provide technical guidance, direction, and collaborate with other personnel including partners such as sub-contractors, partners, suppliers, fabricators, and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
  • A minimum of 10 years of applicable experience, typically 12-15 years.
  • Extensive engineering knowledge and advanced technical skills.
  • Experience in Manufacturing/Production.
  • Proven engineering leadership.
  • Experience with various I&C systems preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) analyses basis, summary of results, proposed solutions, and implementation instructions to customers and team members.
  • Ability to work within a team and coordinate external support, as needed, to successfully complete project scope.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
  • Strong time management skills (Working to a deadline while balancing multiple tasks).
  • Continuous improvement (I.E. Six Sigma).
