About the position

The Medical Laboratory Scientist plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by participating in all phases of patient testing, including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes. This position involves specimen processing, collection, handling, and performing both routine and complex analyses of various biological samples. The role requires a deep understanding of laboratory procedures and the ability to evaluate data to ensure the validity of test results, ultimately contributing to patient care and health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Participate in pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of patient testing.
• Process, collect, and handle specimens according to established laboratory guidelines.
• Perform routine and complex chemical and biological analyses of blood, tissue, body fluids, and excretions.
• Evaluate and correlate data obtained from tests to determine the validity of results.
• Understand principles of human growth and development as they relate to laboratory procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology (Required).
• MLS ASCP - Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
