About The Position

The Lead Network Engineer at Disney Experiences is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the network environment onboard Disney Cruise Line ships and associated infrastructure. This role involves providing technical guidance, overseeing network operations, and ensuring maximum availability of network systems. The Lead Network Engineer will work closely with various teams to enhance the onboard network infrastructure and support the overall guest experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of related work experience.
  • Experience in an agile environment.
  • Expertise in configuring and optimizing networking hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Ability to interpret and implement advanced network security measures.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex network issues and identifying innovative solutions.
  • Experience in software deployment initiatives using Python scripting and automated techniques.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate teams and foster creativity.
  • Commitment to a diverse and inclusive culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification and/or extensive experience in Cisco Systems technology portfolio.
  • Experience with F5 Networks, VMWare AVI Load balancer, and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Focus on emerging technologies and technical integration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of a complete and complex network framework for Disney Cruise Line.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to senior and mid-level network engineers.
  • Lead the Network Engineering team in problem analysis and issue resolution.
  • Coach and mentor team members on best practices and technology standards.
  • Recommend improvements to processes and technology for enhanced network effectiveness.
  • Oversee monitoring, alerting, reporting, and trending of network systems.
  • Develop and deploy Quality of Service profiles across merged networks.
  • Perform preventative network firmware and hardware upgrades and maintenance.
  • Manage day-to-day support for wired and wireless network operations onboard.
  • Create specifications for provisioning network equipment according to technology refresh cycles.
  • Manage network systems security and ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution for network systems.
  • Ensure 24x7 operational support and maintenance onboard.
  • Manage and design major aspects of network infrastructure and security systems.
  • Guide documentation of network configurations and ensure timely backups.
  • Provide technical guidance and consultation to colleagues and customers.
