About The Position

The Lead Platform Engineer in Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering at Capital One is responsible for driving the transformation of the company's foundational cloud infrastructure. This role involves creating and supporting DevOps tools, ensuring network connectivity, and enhancing the resilience and availability of services. The engineer will work collaboratively within Agile teams to design, develop, and implement technical solutions while staying updated on technology trends and mentoring peers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification.
• At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering.
• At least 2 years of networking experience.
• At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5+ years of DevOps Engineering experience.
• 3+ years of network infrastructure experience.
• 3+ years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, Ansible, Bash).
• 2+ years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, Docker).
• 2+ years of experience with software defined networking control planes.

Responsibilities

• Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios.
• Continuously improve software engineering practices.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies.
• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions.
• Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and mentor other engineering community members.
