About The Position

The Associate Director / Principal Engineer, Technology II at AbbVie plays a crucial role in shaping the digital transformation of the company's International Commercial Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team. This position involves defining and executing a comprehensive delivery strategy for Commercial Technology Products, overseeing the product development lifecycle, and leading a team of developers to drive innovation and efficiency in product delivery. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that product strategies align with business needs and that success metrics are established and assessed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years' experience; Master's degree with 8 years' experience; PhD with 4 years' experience.
  • Deep understanding of Commercial Technology Products Delivery methodologies and expertise in governance and product management practices.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in a leadership role within product development.
  • Prior experience working within a global team and managing global stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous research experience in technology or SaaS domains (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Health Cloud, Veeva CRM).
  • Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a comprehensive Commercial Technology Products Delivery strategy.
  • Transform product strategy into a delivery product roadmap prioritizing critical initiatives.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of products, managing the product development lifecycle.
  • Lead a team of developers to drive International Commercial's agenda and own various products.
  • Engage in discussions to effectively communicate product vision and strategy across the organization.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and engineering teams to conceive a scalable Commercial Technology Products Delivery model.
  • Establish criteria for measuring success and efficiency of product delivery and oversee implementation of these metrics.
  • Mentor and contribute to the talent community at AbbVie, empowering teams to excel.
  • Provide thought leadership in developing product strategies, roadmaps, and best practices.
