About the position

The Lead Program Specialist (Lead PS) plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Community Residential Services (CRS) program operates in compliance with applicable regulations while effectively meeting the needs of individuals served. This position is designed for an experienced Program Specialist who is ready to take on a leadership role. The Lead PS is responsible for overseeing the delivery of services according to the Individual Support Plan (ISP), ensuring that all documentation is completed accurately and timely. This includes assessing individual needs, coordinating and securing necessary services, and providing training to both staff and individuals involved in the program. In addition to these responsibilities, the Lead Program Specialist will attend and lead meetings, fostering effective communication among all team members. This role is essential for the continuous development and monitoring of programming and services for individuals on their caseload. The Lead PS will also serve as a liaison with various stakeholders, including funding agencies, regulatory bodies, families, and medical professionals, ensuring that all parties are informed and engaged in the service delivery process. The position offers a competitive salary of $50,000, along with a $2,500 sign-on bonus, and requires a commitment of 40 hours per week during the day shift. The Lead Program Specialist will report directly to the Director of Case Management, CRS, and will have direct reports consisting of Program Specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure services provided in the Community Residential Services (CRS) program adhere to applicable regulations.
  • Complete required documentation and assess individual needs.
  • Coordinate and secure services for individuals.
  • Provide training to staff and individuals.
  • Attend and lead meetings to ensure effective communication among team members.
  • Monitor and develop programming and services for individuals on caseload.
  • Communicate effectively with funding agencies, regulatory agencies, individuals, families, and medical professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a human services related field and two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, or a Master's degree in a human services related field and one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Two years of experience as a Program Specialist or in a comparable case management role.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience working within and managing a unionized workforce preferred.
  • Knowledge of PA ODP 6100 and 6400 regulations preferred.
  • Current, valid driver's license in state of residence with three years of driving experience in the United States and an acceptable driving record.
