  • Use independent judgment in applying or adapting scientific techniques.
  • Assist in protocol design and propose alternative experimental procedures for consideration by a principal investigator.
  • Plan and schedule research procedures, analyzing and interpreting results of studies.
  • Demonstrate and train others in the proper use and operation of laboratory techniques and equipment.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform routine repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Review literature for related research developments and techniques, compiling findings.
  • Monitor laboratory processes to maintain quality assurance standards.
  • Record results of studies, compile and analyze data, and prepare charts and graphs.
  • Monitor the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous substances.
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field.
  • Two years of research experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
