About the position

L3Harris is seeking an experienced Lead Software Architect to lead the technical design and development of new functionalities while providing support for the Network simulation environment. This role involves project management skills to plan sprints in an Agile development setting and requires collaboration with various engineering teams to deliver complex networking solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and development of new software features.
  • Provide technical support to Product Development and Program Execution teams.
  • Describe complex networking solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with Radio Project Chief Engineers and Development teams.
  • Mentor and lead junior developers.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and standards.
  • Maintain version control and release strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with unit and integration testing standards.
  • Lead Agile and SCRUM ceremonies.
  • Track and maintain visibility into development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant engineering experience, or a Graduate Degree with 7 years of experience, or 13 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Expert knowledge of software architecture design patterns.
  • Expert knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
  • Proficiency with version control tools such as GIT or SVN (GIT preferred).
  • Basic understanding of LAN routing/switching protocols and standards.
  • Experience with continuous integration environments (Jenkins).
  • Strong familiarity with JIRA task tracking tools.
  • Experience with SQL or other relational databases.
  • Basic knowledge of XML.
  • Expert knowledge of programming languages such as C# and Python.
