About The Position

The Lead Android Engineer at Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is responsible for developing scalable and elegant solutions for Android applications on platforms like Disney+ and Star+. This role involves leading projects from inception to completion, ensuring high code quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences. The engineer will also manage critical components such as release processes and production issues, while fostering team growth and maintaining a positive work environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7+ years of production experience with Kotlin and/or the Android SDK.
• Proficiency with Reactive Programming and Dependency Injection.
• Well-versed in different architectural patterns (MVI/MVVM or equivalent).
• Pristine communication skills for collaboration across teams.

Nice To Haves

• Comfortable using common Android libraries such as Dagger 2 / Hilt, RxJava2, Groupie.
• Familiarity with Android TV / Amazon Fire TV development.
• Knowledgeable about maintaining a large, modularized codebase.
• Experience using performance evaluation tools such as Android Profiler.
