Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineer in Auto Platform Engineering as part of Consumer Technology. In this role, you will lead complex technology initiatives that have a companywide impact. You will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing large-scale technology solutions to meet both tactical and strategic business objectives. This includes evaluating the enterprise technological environment and addressing technical challenges that require a thorough assessment of various factors, including unprecedented technical issues. You will make decisions that help develop standard practices and best practices for engineering and technology solutions, leveraging your understanding of industry standards and new technologies. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with key technical experts, senior technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve project goals. You will also be tasked with troubleshooting and analyzing production job failures related to data, network file delivery, and server and application issues. Your ability to provide solutions for recovery will be essential, as will your participation in root cause analysis and preventative actions to avoid recurring incidents. You will engage in the buildout of automation processes aimed at preventing problem recurrence, with the ultimate goal of automating responses to all non-exceptional service conditions. Your technology background in software engineering and systems engineering will be applied to ensure that applications onboarded to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) are available, fully observable, integrated with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and consistently operational. You will introduce continuous improvement through code and automation, as well as continuous testing, and provide operational insights through analytics. Assessing the availability of critical business flows, identifying service level objectives, and conducting destructive and resiliency testing will be part of your responsibilities to achieve a 99.995% availability for the firm's critical products and services, ultimately enhancing customer experience and satisfaction. Additionally, you will introduce enterprise capabilities, tools, and innovations to improve availability in a multi-cloud ecosystem. This includes evolving observability, monitoring, logging, CI/CD integration, continuous testing, and standardizing key SRE metrics and IT Service Operations processes.
