About the position

As a Leasing Agent for an Apartment Community, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to both current and prospective residents. This position is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic, driven, and possess a passion for working with people. You will be responsible for greeting prospective residents, giving tours of the community, and determining their housing needs and preferences. Your ability to close leads will be essential in achieving leasing goals. In addition to showing apartments, you will accurately prepare and assist new residents with all necessary leasing paperwork, including lease move-in packets, applications, lease agreements, and conducting employment and credit checks. You will also be responsible for collecting security deposits, rent, and any other charges associated with resident move-ins. Clear communication of lease and community policies to both new and current residents will be a key part of your role. Following up with leads and prospects who did not lease will be part of your responsibilities, as well as ensuring that apartments are move-in ready by inspecting them and adding any last-minute touches when appropriate. You will also be expected to seek out new residents through creative marketing techniques and manage the lease renewal process. Timely responses to all calls, emails, and site visits will be crucial to maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Greet prospective residents and give tours while determining housing needs and preferences.

Requirements

  • Experience in retail, sales, or customer service positions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and exposure to social media.
  • Knowledge of leasing software such as Yardi, Blue Moon, Onesite, MRI, etc. is a plus.
  • Ability to work weekends as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous backgrounds in real estate, retail, sales, leasing, hospitality, or customer service roles.
