About the position

The Leasing Agent is responsible for managing the leasing process for an apartment community, ensuring that all lease-related paperwork is completed accurately and timely. This role involves working closely with the property manager and on-site staff to maintain the property, conduct site tours, and sell the community's amenities to prospective residents. The position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all lease-related paperwork accurately and timely.
• Explain lease documents to new and existing residents.
• Ensure all documents are completed prior to resident move-in.
• Follow established policies for applicant qualification and acceptance.
• Execute affordable housing paperwork and reporting, if applicable.
• Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the apartment community.
• Direct on-site staff efforts to ensure apartments are ready for move-in.
• Maintain prospect traffic and leasing data, assist with data entry.
• Deliver resident gifts and inspect units for readiness.
• Plan and host resident functions.
• Participate in company training classes and meetings.
• Lease apartments and sell property products and services.
• Conduct site tours for prospective residents.
• Develop and implement effective sales skills.
• Optimize occupancy and maximize leased rent.
• Work with management to develop sales and marketing strategies.
• Increase property traffic and maintain closing ratios.
• Respond to resident requests and resolve complaints.
• Follow the property lease renewal program and maximize renewals.
• Transport funds to the bank as required by company policy.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance required.
• At least 2 years of experience in a related field.
• Ability to read and write in English fluently.
• Good organizational and verbal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to perform basic to intermediate mathematical functions.
• Ability to close a sale.
