About the position

The Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Information Technology (IT) at Penn State York is responsible for teaching a range of courses within the Information Technology baccalaureate program. This role involves delivering instruction in both introductory and advanced IT subjects, collaborating with faculty across campuses, and engaging in curriculum development and student advising. The position emphasizes a commitment to high-quality, student-centered education and may require teaching during the day and evening.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses within the Information Technology baccalaureate program, covering both introductory and advanced subjects.
  • Collaborate with faculty at other campuses to deliver curriculum statewide each semester.
  • Participate in course, curriculum, and program development.
  • Advise students and provide career guidance.
  • Engage in campus, University, and community service activities.
  • Stay current in one's discipline through professional development activities.
  • Utilize traditional in-person, hybrid, and online delivery methods for teaching.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a master's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer sciences, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment and advocacy for diversity in the workplace.
  • Expertise in database, networking, information security, enterprise systems, data analytics, cloud computing, programming (Python and Java preferred), data science, gaming and app development, or other emerging topics in the information technology field.
