About the position

Foley & Mansfield, a national law firm with over 110 attorneys across the United States, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Kansas City team. This position is essential in providing legal expertise, creative solutions, and extensive trial experience for our clients, which include large corporations, small businesses, and individuals. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of legal assistant experience, particularly in Products Liability and/or General Liability Litigation. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, allowing for up to 3 days of remote work per week, which is designed to support work-life balance while maintaining productivity. As a Legal Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for managing office and attorney calendars, ensuring that all appointments and case deadlines are accurately entered into our calendaring software, Docket Enterprise. You will play a crucial role in daily case reporting by maintaining and sending out daily case reports, ensuring that all records are accurate and up-to-date. E-filing legal documents with courts and other external bodies will be a key part of your responsibilities, requiring strict compliance with all filing requirements. Additionally, you will handle data entry tasks to support legal processes, maintain organized databases, and manage expense submissions for attorneys in a timely manner. Preparation for meetings, depositions, and hearings will also fall under your purview, where you will assist in ensuring that all necessary documentation is in order. This position demands excellent organizational and multitasking skills, as well as strong attention to detail and effective communication abilities. Responsibilities

  • Managing Office and Attorney Calendars: Enter appointments and case deadlines into calendaring software (Docket Enterprise) and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Daily Case Reporting: Maintain and send daily case reports while keeping accurate and up-to-date records.
  • E-Filing: File legal documents electronically with courts and other external bodies, ensuring compliance with all filing requirements.
  • Data Entry: Perform accurate and efficient data entry to support legal processes and maintain organized databases.
  • Expense Management: Submit attorney expenses in a timely manner and process vendor and office invoices.
  • Meeting Preparation: Assist in preparing materials for depositions, hearings, and other meetings, ensuring all necessary documentation is in order.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years legal assistant experience.
  • Background in Product Liability and/or General Liability Litigation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite Applications.
  • Ability to think critically and independently tackle new challenges.
