About the position

Reno & Zahm LLP, a well-established law firm in Northern Illinois with over 100 years of experience, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support two attorneys in their general civil legal practices. This full-time position requires a professional who can effectively manage a variety of tasks while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal administrative work, particularly in business representation and litigation, and will be responsible for a range of duties that are essential to the smooth operation of the legal team. The Legal Assistant/Paralegal will be tasked with interfacing with clients and courthouse staff, which requires excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Key responsibilities include preparing, revising, and formatting legal documents, e-filing, and conducting extensive proofreading to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards. Additionally, the role involves transcription, managing attorney calendars, coordinating meetings, conducting new client intake, and maintaining organized files. The candidate must be detail-oriented and capable of managing competing priorities effectively, as the position demands a high level of organization and time management. This position operates on a full-time schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and offers excellent benefits, including health insurance, a health savings account, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
