About the position

Crimmigration, Inc., a professional law corporation located in Sacramento, is seeking a full-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant to provide essential administrative support to attorneys. The position requires open availability from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and offers an hourly wage based on experience, ranging from $16 to $20. The successful candidate will work under the general direction of supervising attorneys and will be responsible for managing a caseload primarily focused on immigration law, with some involvement in family, criminal, and civil law areas. Maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality in all client and firm matters is paramount. The role encompasses a variety of essential duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to filing court documents, conducting intake interviews with potential clients, filling out legal forms, overseeing the firm calendar, drafting correspondence and motions, and billing clients. Regular and predictable attendance is considered an essential function of this position, and the firm is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Candidates must possess a paralegal degree or a minimum of one year of work experience in the legal field, preferably in immigration law. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required, and a legal research certificate from an ABA-accredited paralegal program is a plus, though not mandatory. Spanish fluency is required, and candidates should be friendly and knowledgeable in clerical tasks such as filing, documentation, and billing.

Requirements

  • Spanish fluency required

  • Current Notary commission is desired but not required
