As a Legal Assistant, you will report directly to the Paralegal and work closely with internal teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital, as you will be communicating with clients, partners, and leadership on a regular basis to ensure that deadlines surrounding workers' compensation hearing cases are completed in a timely manner. You will utilize your prior software knowledge and skills to adapt to an internal system and support the team with document revisions, organization of depositions, meetings, and document requests. A strong communicator, both written and verbal, you will be able to collaborate with various internal and external teams. If you do not have the answer, you will not hesitate to reach out and ask for help.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organization of cases
  • Perform various administrative duties including monitoring emails, maintaining organized file systems, and keeping track of deadlines
  • Organize hearing files, review pleadings, letters, and hearing notices
  • Communicate and work with internal teams effectively
  • Create and organize case databases and maintain organization

Requirements

  • At least 3 years' legal experience, preferably within the areas of workers' compensation, personal injury, medical litigation, or other health-related fields of law
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Strong self-motivation and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (but not required)
