About the position

Kerouac Law Office, PLLC is seeking a full-time, experienced legal assistant to join our firm. This position is integral to our operations and involves direct client interaction, answering incoming calls, conducting conflict checks, scheduling appointments, and calendaring deadlines. The legal assistant will also be responsible for preparing basic legal correspondence, managing electronic files, and proofreading documents. The successful candidate will possess a professional demeanor and outstanding attention to detail, which are essential for maintaining the high standards of our firm. In this role, the legal assistant will support two busy timekeepers, requiring excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the full Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, document management software, and timekeeping/billing software. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable with scanning and maintaining large, nuanced electronic files. A minimum of three years of legal assistant experience is preferred, but the firm is willing to train and invest in a less experienced but otherwise highly qualified and motivated candidate. The firm offers a competitive salary starting from $57,000 per year, along with a range of benefits and opportunities for advancement.
