This full-time position is integral to providing administrative support to attorneys on the Bankruptcy team. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities that are crucial for the smooth operation of the legal practice, ensuring that attorneys can focus on their legal work while the assistant manages essential administrative tasks. The Legal Practice Assistant will be responsible for time entry and billing, which are vital for tracking the hours worked on client matters and ensuring accurate invoicing. Additionally, the assistant will prepare correspondence with clients, external counsel, courts, and court administration, which requires a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. Proofreading, formatting, and preparing multi-state and federal legal filings are also key responsibilities, as is filing legal documents, including e-filing, which is increasingly common in the legal field. Docket management is another critical task, ensuring that all deadlines are met and that the attorneys are aware of upcoming court dates and other important events. Moreover, the assistant will be tasked with making travel arrangements and assisting with scheduling and calendar management, which are essential for maintaining the attorneys' schedules. The role also involves assisting with discovery, including document production, which is a significant part of the litigation process.
