About the position
The IT Associate will provide customer service-oriented technical support to ensure the functionality of IT equipment used by library staff and patrons. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, training staff on new systems, and maintaining IT systems to ensure quality and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Provide IT support for library staff
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network-related problems encountered by end-users
- Provide networking support
- Interact with vendors as necessary to support and maintain the IT environment
- Use established tracking systems to log requests, monitor progress, track problem resolution, identify patterns of failure, research bug fixes, and implement solutions
- Effectively communicate with manager, staff, and end users regarding unresolved problems
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in computer technology or a certificate reflecting training in the field are preferred
- Able to communicate with diverse populations; English/Spanish bilingual is a plus
- Possess good written and oral communication skills
- Basic knowledge of computer networking, hardware, and software systems
- Basic knowledge of Windows Administration, including GPO
- General knowledge of computer troubleshooting
- Ability to provide instruction in essential computer use, such as hardware and software
- General knowledge of networking principles, Windows backup, and imaging procedures
