About the position

HealthPro Heritage is seeking a dedicated Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) to join our PRN team at a Senior Living Facility in Wamego, Kansas. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring they receive the best therapeutic support possible. As a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, assisting in the implementation of treatment plans tailored to meet the individual needs of our patients. Your contributions will directly impact the quality of life for our residents, making this a fulfilling and purpose-driven position. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, which includes administering therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and applying various modalities as prescribed by the Physical Therapist. You will also monitor and document patient progress, ensuring that all observations and treatment responses are accurately recorded in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards. Education is a key component of this position; you will be tasked with educating patients and their families on treatment protocols, exercises, and self-care techniques to promote independence and recovery. Collaboration is at the heart of our practice. You will work closely with Physical Therapists, other healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care and effective treatment outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists.
  • Provide direct patient care including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modality applications.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, report observations to the Physical Therapist, and educate patients and families on treatment protocols, exercises, and self-care techniques.
  • Accurately document patient treatments, progress, and responses in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with Physical Therapists, other healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care and effective treatment outcomes.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant, or license eligible.
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
