About the position

The Logistics Planner 2 role at Artech Information Systems involves managing the logistics of materials critical to production schedules. This includes planning, scheduling, and ensuring the proper handling of chemicals and consumables, as well as interfacing with various supply chain and engineering teams to facilitate the movement of materials. The position requires a secret clearance and is based on-site in Northridge, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Research status of material critical to production schedule and expedite into stock
  • Planning and scheduling for incoming material
  • Manage chemicals from start to finish, including streamlining process upon delivery, proper labeling, safety paperwork document storage, placement into correct location on production floor, and updating systematically in Excel, Costpoint system and shared file
  • Identify, red-tag, record, and dispose of expired material
  • Ensure adequate supply of consumable material on hand by monitoring current inventory levels and expiration dates
  • Interface with various supply chain and engineering teams to direct appropriate movement of material
  • Conduct cost and metrics analysis on an as-needed basis
  • Track and categorize material metrics and conduct time studies
  • Create Status Report for material control organization, including main bulletin board, space for recurring items, and special projects
  • Collect weekly status from staff and consolidate into main report
  • Develop or update functional or operational manuals outlining established methods of performing work in accordance with organizational policy
  • Provide support to the logistics function preparing logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, material, test equipment and related manuals to be deployed and stocked
  • Determine maintenance and repair materials required for deployment
  • Develop requisitions for and manage records of material, components, repair parts and related manuals
  • Track logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities
  • Document equipment, component and parts conditions; identify logistic support documentation to be included such as drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards to support life cycle of product
  • Provide logistic assistance to floor personnel daily
  • Determine course of action to maintain proper inventory levels of Ground Support Equipment
  • Review production schedule and coordinate logistics support to ensure on-time delivery of various equipment to the floor
  • Inventory all locations of program material, update database on Costpoint
  • Sort and sustain all cabinets, racks, shelves and maintain records
  • Facilitate and maintain inventory and rotation of Shelf-Life Material through calibration cycles ensuring In CAL equipment is available when required
  • Coordinate transportation of material between various sites and locations
  • Evaluate existing processes and make recommendations on improvements

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge of Cognos, CostPoint, and advanced Excel formulas (index match, offset, indirect, etc.)
