About The Position

The Lineman Apprentice position is a skilled role focused on the installation and repair of overhead distribution and transmission systems. The apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced linepersons, performing essential functions related to overhead line work while adhering to safety standards. This position requires physical labor, problem-solving skills, and effective communication with the public and property owners.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
• Ability to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, and weekends.
• Proof of work experience, schooling, and certifications obtained during career.

Nice To Haves

• Willingness to obtain a valid CDL within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead line work following safety standards.
• Assemble material on the ground for installation by linepersons or apprentices.
• Problem-solve in unidentified circumstances on any job.
• Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
• Maintain company equipment safely and efficiently.
• Excavate to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specifications.
• Communicate professionally with public and private property owners regarding work to be performed.
• Participate in company training on regional safety guidelines and perform work according to safety policies.
• Operate various tools for the work, including manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, and jack hammers.
• Report all potential equipment and crew safety hazards to the Foreperson.
