The Linux System Administrator, Mid position at Booz Allen Hamilton involves ensuring the functionality and availability of the current infrastructure while seeking improvements through the latest technology and best practices. Responsibilities

  • Ensure the current infrastructure is functional and available.
  • Look for ways to improve infrastructure using the latest technology.
  • Secure critical systems and provide monitoring and performance management.
  • Identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network.
  • Communicate metrics and their meanings effectively to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with administrating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Linux-based workstations and enterprise IT servers and systems.
  • Experience with workstation computer operating system and application loads and configuration.
  • Experience with managing or modifying Linux OS scripting, such as Bash scripts.
  • Experience with management of middleware applications such as Apache, JBoss, Elastic Stack.
  • Experience updating system and middleware configurations in accordance with quarterly DISA STIG requirement updates.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Server deployments in either Linux or Windows environments.
  • Secret clearance.
  • HS diploma or GED.
  • DoD 8140 CSWF Compliant Certification, such as GSEC, CompTIA Security+ CE, SCNP, or SSCP Certification.
