The National Security Sector is seeking a Linux System Administrator with a current TS/SCI to join our team at the National Maritime Intelligence Center in Suitland, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, rebuilding, configuring, maintaining, administering, and documenting Unix/Linux systems, software, system-related products, hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage in accordance with established standards. You will create, document, and implement repeatable processes to install, test, upgrade, maintain, and patch system environments and software. Troubleshooting and resolving system-related incidents detected during monitoring, by other technical teams, or reported by users will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also review Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts/Bulletins (IAVA/B) related to the current operating environment and implement remediation plans. Additionally, you will develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for routine and non-routine procedures that assist in the management and operation of the Linux Enterprise operating environments. Performing any required re-accreditation actions such as DISA STIG review, OS upgrades, vulnerability scan remediation, and documenting various required lists (PPSM, H/W, and S/W) during the normal accreditation cycle will also be part of your duties. You will have the opportunity to recommend changes to the government for improvement in the operating and/or security environment.
