About the position

Peraton is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator for a cleared program located in Ft. Meade. This role presents an exciting opportunity to engage in a highly specialized and fast-paced development effort utilizing mobile and Radio Frequency technologies. The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure within the organization, which includes overseeing the physical network (such as LANs/WANs, servers, and terminals) as well as server applications and software. The candidate will be tasked with configuring, installing, maintaining, and upgrading server applications and hardware. In addition, the role involves evaluating, testing, recommending, coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining information systems (IS) and cyber security policies, procedures, and systems. This includes managing access for hardware, firmware, and software. The Senior Systems Administrator will ensure that IS and cyber security plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures are aligned with IS standards and overall IS and cyber security objectives. The candidate will also be responsible for identifying security risks and exposures, determining the causes of security violations, and suggesting procedures to prevent future incidents and enhance security measures. Furthermore, the role requires the development of techniques and procedures for conducting IS and cyber security risk assessments and compliance audits. This includes evaluating and testing hardware, firmware, and software for potential impacts on system security, as well as investigating and resolving security incidents such as intrusions, fraud, attacks, or leaks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the IT infrastructure including physical networks (LANs/WANs, servers, terminals) and server applications/software.
  • Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade server applications and hardware.
  • Evaluate, test, recommend, coordinate, monitor, and maintain information systems and cyber security policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Ensure IS and cyber security plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures are aligned with IS standards.
  • Identify security risks and exposures, determine causes of security violations, and suggest procedures to prevent future incidents.
  • Develop techniques and procedures for conducting IS and cyber security risk assessments and compliance audits.
  • Evaluate and test hardware, firmware, and software for possible impacts on system security.
  • Investigate and resolve security incidents such as intrusions, frauds, attacks, or leaks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years experience with a BS/BA degree.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Experience with network management/administration of Radio Frequency systems and components is preferred.
