The position involves performing multiple functions to ensure the IT infrastructure is available, reliable, and stable. This role can be executed either independently or under the guidance of experienced personnel. Key responsibilities include the evaluation, selection, installation, and maintenance of operating systems, software, and hardware. Regular monitoring of systems and serving as a focal point for support is also a critical aspect of the job. The support provided is generally for medium to large-scale systems that are of high criticality to the business. Additionally, the role requires planning for the future by setting direction and documenting strategies for the specific area of responsibility within the information systems infrastructure. The duties include evaluating, configuring, and maintaining systems, which involves installing and testing new releases. The candidate will monitor and evaluate operating efficiency, analyze performance, and perform tuning as necessary. Identifying problem areas through system analysis is essential, as is following established procedures for efficient management of the infrastructure. The role also requires maintaining appropriate records, including statistical reports, inventories, and technical documentation. The installation of new or enhanced applications and/or hardware, as well as assisting in the installation of servers, is part of the responsibilities. Collaboration with peers to achieve goals and complete tasks based on guidance from management or other experienced personnel is expected. The candidate will manage medium enterprise projects according to division standards and requirements and serve as a subject matter expert within their area of responsibility regarding information systems infrastructure. A broad technical knowledge of information systems is necessary to recommend solutions based on current infrastructure components. The role emphasizes conducting activities in a safe and healthy manner, adhering to established health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment.
