About the position

The Linux Systems Administrator at Peraton will play a crucial role in maintaining and advancing mission-critical applications that support Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and intelligence operations. This position involves designing, developing, and managing CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the reliability and security of systems integral to national defense intelligence operations.

Responsibilities

  • Create and optimize build and deployment pipelines, integrating tools and automating processes.
  • Write and modify Jenkins-based groovy scripts, update CloudFormation scripts, and automate workflows for deployment and variance corrections.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline issues in AWS environments (Linux EC2, RDS, CloudFormation, ElasticSearch), debug integration problems, and resolve connectivity issues between API servers and databases.
  • Integrate DevOps tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, Jenkins, Robot Framework/Selenium, and Artifactory into the pipeline.
  • Partner with development teams to onboard new microservices, ensuring smooth deployment and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Monitor AWS services, develop monitoring scripts, and ensure the architecture remains resilient and secure.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph.
  • A Bachelor's degree relevant to the position with 8 or more years of relevant experience, or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with systems administration, including Linux or CentOS.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and anticipate problems, taking decisive action.
  • Experience maintaining applications built on a PostgreSQL or Oracle database.
  • Experience writing scripts to monitor system services, resources, and data mine logs.
  • Proficiency in writing SQL and PL/SQL to generate system data reports and modify data as necessary.
  • Experience with Keytool and OpenSSL, and familiarity with troubleshooting Java & Oracle applications.
  • XML proficiency.
  • DoD 8570 Compliant holding current IAT level II baseline certification (Security+ CE, GICSP, SSCP, etc.).
  • Experience maintaining systems in cloud environments and working with Firewalls and AWS Security Groups.
