About the position

The Systems Administrator Staff at Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is responsible for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. This role involves managing IT system infrastructure, providing support for day-to-day operations, and ensuring the reliability and performance of various IT systems, including client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Manages IT system infrastructure and processes related to these systems.
  • Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
  • Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Supports the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Optimizes system operations and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Assists users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Provides in-depth experience in troubleshooting IT systems.
  • Provides detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Configures and manages Linux operating systems, installs and loads operating system software, troubleshoots issues, maintains the integrity of network components, and implements operating system enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or five (5) years of additional Systems Administrator experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 10 years of experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Experience with Linux system administration, including configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and vSphere is beneficial.
  • Ansible experience is preferred.
  • Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly SP.
