About the position

ASRC Research and Technology Solutions is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Service Response Systems Administrator - Linux in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Unified Cyber Situational Awareness (UCSA) program in Pensacola, FL. The Service Response Systems Administrator supports 24x7x365 classified operations and will design, install, configure, secure, troubleshoot and maintain operating systems for mission critical servers in support of classified programs supporting the Department of Defense (DoD). This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and security of the IT infrastructure that supports national defense operations. The successful candidate will manage the Enterprise Red Hat Linux computing infrastructure, ensuring that all systems are operational and secure. Responsibilities include the installation and maintenance of Enterprise Linux Servers and network systems, server/storage/network devices in accordance with DoD policies and procedures. The administrator will also be responsible for testing new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact, providing assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems, and working collaboratively with a team of Service desk and systems Administrators. Utilizing the Remedy ticketing system for trouble management documentation, the administrator will provide support for the escalation and communication of status to DoD agencies and internal customers. Additionally, the role involves optimizing system operations and resource utilization, performing system capacity analysis and planning, and researching and recommending improvements to system performance. Effective communication with remote customers is also a key aspect of this position, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and supported in their IT needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Enterprise Red Hat Linux computing infrastructure.
  • Installation and Maintenance of Enterprise Linux Servers and network systems server/storage/network devices in accordance with DoD policies and procedures.
  • Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Work with a team of Service desk and systems Administrators.
  • Utilize Remedy ticketing system for trouble management documentation.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to DoD agencies and internal customers.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Research and recommend/assist in improving system performance.
  • Communicate effectively with remote customers.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a technical field, OR four (4) years of relevant IT experience in lieu of degree.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
  • A DoD 8570 IAT Level II approved certification is required.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining Linux/Red Hat systems/networks and related applications.
  • Knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with big data and data formats such as CSV, CEF, JSON, and XML, preferred.
  • Experience with Splunk, preferred.
  • Experience with Clustered File Systems, preferred.
  • Experience with Cloud Computing technologies is preferred.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies is preferred.
