We are currently seeking a skilled Linux/Unix System Administrator to join our team in El Segundo, CA. This position requires a strong background in Linux architecture, deployment, administration, and security hardening, as well as experience in networking and performance monitoring. Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Linux systems, ensuring security and performance.
  • Gather requirements and design appropriate solutions for system implementation.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Linux architecture and deployment.
  • Perform system backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Monitor system performance and tune configurations as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT incident and service requests.
  • Implement security hardening measures and maintain system integrity.
  • Support infrastructure products and capabilities, including antivirus and backup solutions.

Requirements

  • Typically, a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience or 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Experience with Linux architecture, deployment, administration, and networking.
  • Proficiency in performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with integrated AD authentication (Kerberos, LDAP, Centrify).
  • Familiarity with SMTP, DHCP, DNS, NIS, LDAP, CIFS, NFS, Samba, and *NIX system security.
  • Experience with infrastructure backup, restore, and disaster recovery products like Symantec NetBackup.
  • Knowledge of security infrastructure products and capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HP server hardware support and diagnosis.
  • Knowledge of storage hardware support and diagnosis.
  • Automation skills via scripting, including file replication and system tuning.
  • Familiarity with VMware ESXi and vCenter technologies.
  • Experience with Splunk and Centrify products.
  • BASH scripting and Ansible experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or other relevant industry certifications.
