Palmer Group is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant who will provide essential administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and other administrative staff within the litigation practice area. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to grow their understanding and capabilities in performing administrative functions within a law firm. As a Litigation Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing correspondence and filings, ensuring that all documents are accurately copied, scanned, and filed according to client instructions and legal protocols. You will also be tasked with managing email notifications and docket dates, as well as interacting with clients from diverse backgrounds. This role demands a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines. You will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, especially when dealing with confidential and sensitive information. The work model for this position is on-site, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This structured schedule allows for a focused work environment where you can develop your skills and contribute to the success of the litigation team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare correspondence and filings for mailing, copying, and filing of documents per client instructions and protocol
  • Create, format, and edit documents
  • Copy, scan, and upload documents into electronic document management systems
  • Request filing fees via check following internal accounting processes and ensure payments are processed according to application filing requirements
  • Manage email notifications and docket dates as necessary
  • Interact with clients and people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Manage client contact and scheduling

Requirements

  • High school diploma is required
  • 2+ years prior legal support experience in litigation
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to work well both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to identify the level of urgency and prioritize tasks and deadlines accordingly
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, providing exemplary customer service to those this position supports and our clients
  • High level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products, as well as the ability to learn required systems
  • Exceptional attendance and dependability
