About the position

As a Litigation Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative and clerical support to our timekeeper(s) within a prestigious law firm. This position is designed for an experienced Legal Assistant who is looking to elevate their career in a dynamic legal environment. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including document preparation, case management, and communication with various stakeholders such as courts, clients, and opposing counsel. You will also be responsible for e-filing and maintaining files, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Excellent customer service is a key component of this role, as you will be interacting with clients and other legal professionals regularly. In this position, you will prepare and proofread legal documents, manage cases, and assist in discovery, deposition, and trial preparation. You will handle e-filing in Federal, State, and local courts, maintain both client and administrative files, and manage attorney calendars by scheduling appointments. Additionally, you will enter billable time, assist with billing processes, perform conflict checks, and ensure that all deadlines are met. Coordinating travel arrangements for attorneys will also be part of your responsibilities, along with delivering top-notch customer service to clients and colleagues alike.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and seven years of litigation experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Standard federal and state filing experience and/or a few notice of removals to federal; solid with confidential/sealed state filing experience
  • Knowledge of TOC, TOA, Styles, and PDF software
  • Experience with legal software (InTapp Time, Intapp Open, Chrome River Expense Reporting, Aderant, Interaction, iManage) is a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well in a team

  • Base Salary: $100k - $125k + Bonus + Paid OT
