As a Live-out Governess in Houston, TX, you will play a crucial role in the daily care and supervision of two young children, aged 3.5 and 5 years old, while also providing specialized support for a child with special needs. This position requires a full-time commitment, working Monday through Friday for 45 to 55 hours per week. Your primary responsibilities will include identifying and collaborating with top specialists in various fields such as nutrition, therapy, and education to ensure the best care for the special needs child. You will be responsible for ongoing monitoring of the child's developmental stages, ensuring that all care and educational plans are aligned with the latest advancements and expert recommendations. In addition to your supervisory duties, you will conduct thorough research and provide detailed reports to the parents, offering expert-backed recommendations to enhance the child's development. Communication with the parents is key, as you will share progress updates and new opportunities for the child's growth. You will also develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities that align with Montessori principles, ensuring the children's safety, emotional well-being, and proper manners. Your role will involve organizing a balanced daily routine that includes educational, recreational, social, and rest periods. You will teach and reinforce proper table manners and social skills, while also encouraging the 5-year-old to overcome selective eating habits through meal planning focused on health and nutrition. Utilizing educational technology and planning social activities and outings will also be part of your responsibilities. Creating a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment is essential, especially for fostering a love of learning in an autistic child.
