About the position

The Loan Officer Outside Sales position at Primary Residential Mortgage Inc. is designed for individuals who are proactive in soliciting new residential mortgage clients while developing and nurturing a robust network of referral sources. The primary responsibility of this role is to analyze a borrower's financial and credit data to assess their creditworthiness and the likelihood of successful repayment. Loan Officers are expected to originate their own sales by reaching out to prospective clients, which involves spending a significant amount of time outside the office, including at clients' homes or other locations, to meet with potential borrowers and sell mortgage loan products. In this role, Loan Officers will engage in various marketing and promotional activities to support their sales efforts. They will develop and maintain relationships with real estate agents, brokers, financial advisors, and other potential referral sources to generate leads. A strong understanding of PRMI's mortgage products is essential, as Loan Officers must match these products to the specific needs of their clients. They will also be responsible for reviewing application information, requesting necessary documentation, and analyzing applicant data to determine the best financial products for each customer. Additionally, Loan Officers must complete continuing education requirements in a timely manner and stay informed about local developments and trends in the real estate and mortgage industries. This position requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong attention to detail and customer service skills. Loan Officers will work closely with clients, in-house support staff, and external service providers to ensure timely closings and maintain high standards of customer care. Overall, this position is crucial for driving business growth and providing exceptional service to clients seeking mortgage solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively solicit new residential mortgage clients.
  • Develop and cultivate a strong business network of referrals.
  • Analyze a borrower's financial and credit data to determine creditworthiness.
  • Originate sales by contacting prospective clients.
  • Spend at least one or two hours a day, two or more times a week outside of the office to originate loans.
  • Meet with prospective clients at locations other than PRMI's offices.
  • Engage in marketing and promotional activities to support sales efforts.
  • Develop new and continued business opportunities and sales leads by cultivating relationships with realtors, builders, and bankers.
  • Review application information and request specific supporting documentation as needed.
  • Analyze applicant data, credit, and collateral property value to determine suitable financial products.
  • Provide advice to customers regarding available financial products and their advantages and disadvantages.
  • Complete necessary continuing education in a timely manner and remain current on industry developments.
  • Create and maintain excellent business relationships with referral clients.

Requirements

  • Sales experience in the mortgage industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with mortgage processes, procedures, rules, regulations, and compliance.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze financial information.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present complex financial information.
  • Established contact and referral list within the real estate and mortgage industries preferred.
  • Ability to pass a required background check.
