About the position

The position involves working with real estate loan officers to process loan applications through to closing, performing all duties in conformity with applicable regulations and bank policies, and working under limited supervision with moderate latitude for independent judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Order all paperwork related to each specific real estate loan, including appraisals, surveys, title policies, and legal documents.
  • Correspond with title companies, surveyors, appraisers, borrowers, realtors, attorneys, etc. relating to the real estate loan being processed.
  • Provide necessary disclosures as required by law.
  • Coordinate closings with the borrower, loan officer, seller, and title company.
  • Work with RE Closers and the loan department to ensure that all required documentation and disclosures are in place prior to a closing.
  • Support loan secretaries/assistants with any real estate work they are performing.
  • Maintain good knowledge of all bank services to identify additional customer needs and respond to inquiries.
  • Ensure all functions are conducted in a professional and ethical manner while compliant with regulations and internal controls.
  • Represent the Bank to customers, government agencies, and the general public in ways that promote the integrity and validity of Bank objectives.
  • Maintain knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security, and Bank policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Two years of loan support experience.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Current knowledge of real estate loan documentation and title company requirements.
  • Knowledge of real estate regulations including TRID, Truth in Lending, RESPA, Flood Disaster, HUD, and HMDA.
  • Ability to read and comprehend various types of loan and related support documentation.
  • Good basic math and typing skills.
  • Ability to use bank equipment and computer systems including PC applications using spreadsheet, word processing, and database software.
  • Ability to maintain objectivity and independence.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of Bank staff, customers, and other related parties.
