About The Position

The Locksmith/Access Control Tech B position at Dartmouth College involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of various security and access systems. The technician will work with door hardware, keys, combination locks, and electronically operated locks, ensuring the security needs of the institution are met.

Requirements

• Technical school graduate or equivalent vocational experience.
• At least four years of relevant experience, including two years as an apprentice or in an equivalent position.
• Working knowledge of installation, repair, and maintenance of security systems (key, combination, electronic).
• Valid driver's license and compliance with Dartmouth College Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Policy.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and hardware schedules.
• Skill in using hand and power tools, analog/digital test equipment, and ladders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Willingness to work overtime and support college events as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair security and access systems including door hardware and locks.
• Communicate effectively with members of the Dartmouth community regarding security needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to door hardware and locks.
• Follow complex written and oral assignments with minimal supervision.
• Complete safety or trades-related coursework as required by the College.
