About the position

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service through the accurate and timely processing of orders related to the movement of recycled materials. This role involves communication and coordination with various departments and partners to meet customer needs, serving as the first point of contact for inquiries and maintaining strong business relationships with clients and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers to monitor inventories and anticipate their production needs.
  • Arrange and negotiate third-party freight costs for timely servicing of customer waste by-product pick-ups.
  • Monitor and maintain shipment status via computer system.
  • Respond to customer complaints in a timely manner and investigate shipment issues.
  • Initiate calls to customers to set up deliveries and advise on shipment delays.
  • Review pricing with the Sales and Marketing groups.
  • Develop interactive relationships with vendors, customers, and outside freight carriers.
  • Responsible for all necessary documentation for shipments, including export documentation.
  • Initiate calls to customers for timely invoicing and record vendor payments.
  • Resolve downgrades and rejects of waste material by negotiating pricing with customers and vendors.
  • Work with supervisors/managers to coordinate services and keep them informed of issues.
  • Project a knowledgeable and positive attitude to encourage confidence among customers and employees.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings to maintain favorable working relationships and promote morale.
  • Provide timely feedback to supervisors regarding service failures or customer complaints.
  • Provide accurate information to incoming customer order status and product knowledge requests.
  • Work to meet or exceed service and operational goals established for the call center.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives to meet customer service expectations and develop solutions.
  • Perform other special projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
  • Two years of relevant work experience in a customer service role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; basic Excel required.
  • Work experience that required the use of a computer.
