The Logistics Security and Risk Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to minimize theft and other security risks across warehousing, railroad, and transportation operations. This role focuses on safeguarding assets, improving operational security, and mitigating risks to ensure the smooth and secure flow of goods throughout the supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive theft prevention programs for warehouse and transportation operations (railroad and trucking).
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities across the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with management to integrate security measures into daily operations and long-term strategies.
  • Oversee the monitoring of freight and warehouse facilities using advanced security technologies, including GPS tracking and surveillance systems.
  • Investigate incidents of theft, fraud, and cargo loss, documenting findings and implementing corrective measures.
  • Serve as a liaison with law enforcement and build external partnership with agencies and consortiums focused on freight rail and cargo theft prevention and recovery, including theft investigations.
  • Develop training programs for staff on theft prevention policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry security regulations, including transportation security standards.
  • Analyze trends in theft and cargo loss to recommend policy improvements.
  • Coordinate security efforts during high-risk activities such as cross-docking, drayage transfers, and long-haul transportation.
  • Maintain and update emergency response plans specific to theft prevention.
  • Prepare detailed reports on theft incidents, risk trends, and preventive measures.
  • Provide recommendations to management on reducing operational risks and improving supply chain security.
  • Audit freight payment data and shipment records to identify discrepancies or potential theft indicators.
