About the position

We are currently hiring for a long-term early childhood substitute teacher to support one of our partner schools in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood of Chicago. This position allows you to teach 5 days/week at the same school. In case you’re wondering, it’s pronounced Koh-KOO-ah. In Hawaiian, Kokua means to come together to fulfill a need and we’re excited to have you join us in connecting students with classroom role models who can empower them to be their best.

Responsibilities

• Teach 5 days/week at the same school
• Positively contribute to your community and spark a love for learning with students
• Help to solve the teacher shortage crisis in America
• Add representation to the classroom to help kids learn from your unique experiences

Requirements

• 6 months experience working with Pre-K students
• Bachelor's Degree (required)
• IL Professional Educators License (required)
• Current residence in or willingness to commute to Chicago, specifically the West side
• Confidence to manage a classroom of students ages 3 to 5
• Ability to pass state & federal background check
• Have reliable means of transportation
