This position involves planning and implementing informative and engaging art courses and independent studies that draw upon various styles, time periods, methods, and media. The instructor will demonstrate basic skills for working with oils, watercolors, clay, charcoal, and other types of art media, emphasizing technique development and exploration, as well as creative expression. The role includes leading participatory critiques, building portfolios, and fostering artistic development in both novice and advanced students. The instructor will utilize a variety of visual aids, textbooks, and creative projects to engage students in the creative process and art appreciation. Additionally, the instructor will communicate clearly and present problems to invoke independent thinking and personal expression, while also planning well-structured lessons. The position requires planning exhibits, competitions, and events to promote Greenfield High School and its art programs to the community and within the state. Collaboration with colleagues to acknowledge art, particularly American art, in their subjects is also a key responsibility. Maintaining classroom records and performing other related duties as required are essential aspects of this role.
